Stunningly beautiful model of the first operational night Interceptor the U.S. military had in WWII. It was also the first U.S. aircraft designed to leverage on-board radar technology. First flight-tested May 21, 1942, with the first production in October 1943. The last was retired from military inventory in 1954. This Limited Edition, Signature Series model, contains the signature of the Lady-in-the-Dark pilot Major Lee Kendall, as well as the correct nose-art of Lady clad in white gossamer blouse (not Blue!). Lady was credited with the last aerial victory of WWII. This model is made of highly detailed die-cast metal, with a solid metal stand. Has a wingspan of 10 ¾” and length of 8”, comes in a gorgeous gift box.
